Engineering Study Groups
Braxton offers study group sessions with focus towards but not limited to Engineering majors from Sunday through Wednesday each and every week of the academic school year. These study groups are hosted by Braxton’s own academically inclined Resident Assistants who have already and successfully been through their freshman year and are most likely to have encountered the same problems most freshmen do. This means that if you have a problem you can’t solve or simply can’t figure out, these tutors will either have probably seen it before or have acquired enough knowledge to provide you with techniques to approach the problem. That in turn means you don’t have to be struggling with your homework and earning low grades as a result, since doing so can drastically affect your final grades and GPA in the long run.
Whether it is Physics, Calculus, Chemistry, or Computer Science, there’s a Resident Assistant specialized and assigned to each field. For first-year Engineering majors, it is a requirement to attend at least 1 study group for a maximum of 2 hours each week. For such students, a sign in sheet is made available during each session so their names can be recorded and submitted to the Engineering Department for credit. So here’s a list of which classroom each group meets and when.
