What are Braxton Bucks?

Braxton Bucks are a type of “points” system that are given to Braxton Residents for participation in hall activities. There are four types of Braxton Bucks: $50 (All different RAs), $100 (Bob Whitmore), $500 (Dara Whitmore), and $1000 (Ernesto Waines). But PLEASE NOTE That a Braxton Buck is not vaild unless you sign it in front of the person (RA, ,WC, RHC, or RFL) that gave it to you; it’s like a check. Make sure all of your Braxton Bucks are signed by you. Any and all Braxton Bucks that are attempted to be used by others other than the one the Buck was distributed to is not valid.

How Do I Earn Braxton Bucks?

Braxton Bucks are given to those Braxton Residents who participate in Braxton Hall activities, show outstanding commitment to the Hall, and contribute to the wellness of Braxton! Here is a list of the different things you can do to earn Braxton Bucks:

$50 Attending 2 floor meetings a month
$50 Helping RA’s with floor activities (e.g. bulletin boards)
$50 Participation in each intramural, Athletic Club, or Campus Cup activity
$100 Attending floor programs, ice cream socials, and floor dinners
$100 Attending Hall Council
$100 Attending any Braxton Club (e.g. Socrates Cafe ©, J-Board, helping with Pizza Sales, etc.)
$150 Attending any hall-sponsored cultural event
$500 Attending and participating in community service through Braxton
$500 Not receiving midterms (per semester; can potentially happen twice in a school year)
$1000 Receiving a 4.0 in the fall semester
$1000 For an outstanding hall achievement, as decided by Ernesto

What Can I Do with My Braxton Bucks?

Braxton will be throwing an auction the week before Spring Break in which all students will have an opportunity to use their Bucks to bid on several different prizes. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction going on at the same time. During the 2006-2007 school year, there were great prizes like:

-iPod Nano
-Digital Camera
-Video game sound chair
-PSP
-Movies
-Gift Certificates

So participate in Braxton activities and earn some prizes in the process!! :)

Please note that Braxton Bucks are only available to residents of Braxton Tower and that they are only valid for the 2007-2008 school year. Braxton Bucks have no valid U.S. government currency value.
